Friday Fix (11/30/2012) - Things I Can't Live Without

By Christy Hess

This holiday season I thought I would share some of the things that I found (under $20 or so) that I can't live without, just in time to add them to you Christmas list.

Furniture Movers - these have saved my back. I have them under ever heavy piece of furniture so I can easily move furniture around to vacuum.
Invisible Glass foam - stays in place where you spray it and is available at Walmart. No streaks!

LED Flashlight - small but great to take on walks - especially it getting dark so early at this time of year.

Kettle Salt and Pepper chips - I could eat the entire bag in one sitting.

Kindle app (on whatever device you have) - if you know me - you know how much I love to read and this application is FREE. If you LIKE Pixels of Ink on Facebook - they give you 5 free books a day to load into your Kindle App.

Speaking of free applications to load onto you android or apple device - get Pulse - the news that you like right at your fingertips.

The Magic Eraser - cleans my walls without effort or hurting the paint. This is the one cleaning must have!

If you are tired of wax paper, aluminm foil or plastic wrap - try Glad Press and Seal - it really works.
Picasa - if you have tons of photos that need to be organized or want to just view them easily, download Picasa from Google.com - it is FREE. Also the facial recognition works really well!

The new flavor of coffee this year is Salted Caramel Mocha. This is now available in stores for the season. No need to go to Starbucks when you can add this delicious creamer to your coffee right at home.

I could go on and on, but as I was looking for things to talk about, I ran across a product that I am going to try this week. Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair - will let you know how they work.

Happy Friday. If you have a favorite find that you would like to share, please leave a comment.

Friday Fix (11/23/2012) - Black Friday

By Christy Hess

Yesterday was Thanksgiving. Great day to spend with family and friends. Today, being Black Friday and all, I thought I would give you some Christmas gift ideas for your dog!

Here are some of my dog's favorite things (just like Oprah - for dogs).

Clean Teeth

I no longer give my dogs rawhide bones. My dogs eat so fast, I am sure they are going to choke or have some kind of blockage. As an alternative, I use cow hooves. My dogs ADORE them. ***Warning - get the white ones - the black ones smell really bad.

Treats

I love to give my dogs special rewards once in a while. They go nuts for the Canine Carry Outs chicken treats. Other flavors are OK - but the chicken is always a hit.

Frisbee

If anyone wants to train your pup to catch a frisbee, I highly recommend starting with this soft floppy disk. If they miss it, it doesn't hurt their nose or teeth and they float in the air, making chasing and catching really fun. Brody loves this toy, in fact "frisbee" is the one word that makes him stop in his tracks and look my way. I am thinking of changing his name.

Balls

As many of you know, I have two ball CRAZY border collies. Their favorite choice by far is the flash - n- dash ball. We have some of these that have survived for 2+ years and they still flash. Note: There are times in the middle of the night that you may think you are getting invaded by aliens, because the dogs wake you up with the flashing ball in their mouth. Never fear, they are just saying thank you :)

Tax Deductible Donation

We have our Empty Plate Dinner going on right now. Check out our website (www.coloradopuppy.org) for all of the details. This is a great way to help our puppies.

And finally - what is a Friday Fix without some cute puppy pictures.

OK.....so I was going through puppy photos to try to figure out what pictures to include on our calendar. We have so many cute puppy photos - I just can't limit it to only 12 photos!!!! Do you have a favorite that you want for a specific month. Let me know.

Friday Fix (11/16/2012) - Corgi

By Christy Hess

This week we have a couple of puppies that we are thinking might be Corgi mixes. One book always comes to mind when I think of Corgis. It is a great book written from the dogs point of view.

Finding Mr. Right

by Emily Carmichael

From the back cover:
It takes a heavenly dog to make a hell of a match--
Right before her untimely death, Lydia Keane made one terrible mistake--she had an affair with her best friend Amy's husband. Barred from the afterlife until she makes amends, Lydia has been ordered back to Earth for one final mission: to find Amy a new husband. But there is just one small catch: Lydia must rely on her smarts rather than her centerfold body--because she has been reincarnated as a Corgi named Piggy!
Although Lydia was always an expert matchmaker, she never had to play Cupid while trapped in the body of a furry mutt. But if she wants a chance to rest in peace, Lydia must figure out a way to find Amy the most handsome bachelor in town--and pray that woman's best friend can spot true love.
I hope you enjoy - I found it very entertaining.

Here are some great pics to make your Friday even more special.

Have a great week - talk to you soon.

P.S. I have added a StumbleUpon button at the top of this blog. Don't know much about this social media, but if you can help us get more traffic to this blog, that would be greatly appreciated.
